To say that Duncan was a good would be a massive under-statement. It is very rare that you come across people who you immediately feel drawn towards and want to be friends with. Duncan was certainly one of these people. Whether you only met him once or saw him everyday it would be impossible to look back and not think of him with fondness.
When i think of him the first memories that come to me are of just bumping into him during the day at uni, having a quick chat and moving on. He was just so easy to talk to and it was inevitable that he would put a smile on yor face and relieve you from the intense boredom that endless lectures could be. When i think more about any specific memories, like Nick said earlier, spending days in the library trying to finish our course-work project comes to mind. At the time we cursed and moaned about it but secretly we knew we were having the time of our lives. The project turned out to be a massive success, mainly due to Duncans initiative, and i scraped a 2:2, thanks mate. Like many of the lads at uni i also have strong meories of Duncan on the football pitch. He was undoubtably a formidable aponent or much appreciated team-mate even if his style did some times reveal the southern softie that he was. I feel so lucky to have met Duncan at all and i hope his family can understand that there are so many people out there who feel the same. |
