Edit
I'm sorry it has taken me this long to post a message - I have thought about it a lot but have not been able to put anything into words.

Duncan was one of my first friends on my new course I started in my second year at university. He always seemed to have a permenant smile on his face, and always knew what to say when I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the course. Even though after the first year on that course we were not in lectures together, whenever I saw him there was always the same huge hug and genuine pleasure in seeing me. That was what was very special about Duncan, whenever you saw him, he was always so genuine in his excitiment about seeing you, and his interest in everything you had been up to.

One of my last times I saw Duncan we were in Leeds, upstairs in brb. We were chatting about what we were doing after uni and he was talking about going to Japan. When I told him that I was moving to north London he said that we must get together on his return. I ended up moving to Crouch End - not knowing that his family home was in Muswell Hill. Unfortunately, I did not hear about Duncan's death until just after the fureral; I went to the crematorium and said my goodbyes in the grounds there - this was the closest I could get to actually being there. Everytime I drove through Muswell Hill I thought about Duncan and new memories would pop into my head. I have sinced moved away, but my thoughts of Duncan have not got less.

Duncan, I think about you often, you were a very special person and are sorely missed. I hope you are safe and happy. My thoughts are with Duncan's family, friends and girlfriend.
Bless you all, Kate Taylor x x x
